On Slowing Down and Looking Back...

Piles of overturned pages I just revisited on my kitchen table.

Piles of overturned pages I just revisited on my kitchen table.

I'm not one for looking back. For sentimentality. For remembering when...

Often times, I think this serves me well. Sometimes I know it doesn't. Sometimes I'm so busy moving forward I forget the lessons I've already been through and the things that I've learned.

The last few days have been a deep dive in to places I've been before. Lessons I've learned before. Things that I've shared before.

Literally several hundreds of pages I've created over the years, printed, spread upon the kitchen table(I really need to get back in to my studio) and reviewed.

As I re-read and revisit and reconsider all of them I'm astounded by how many things I've forgotten.

I'm not sure what I'm saying here other than maybe, perhaps, sometimes (ok often), there are benefits to slowing down if just for a moment and looking back. Doing so just might get you closer to where you want to be moving forward by remembering lessons you've already learned.

Thoughts???
