Day 29- where was I on Friday???

Transient

I know, I know, a piece each day Monday-Friday. I failed to meet my challenge last Friday. I was at Squam Art Retreat in New Hampshire. I was busting hump to prepare for the fair on Saturday night(thank you all who stopped by). I had no connectivity without hoofing it to a specific location. Excuses, excuses. At the end of the day I didn't get it done.

What I did get done was give in to the woods of New Hampshire. The community of Squam. The new ideas and creations all around me. Specifically on Friday I was in a painting workshop.

A workshop with the soft, sweet, mystical Alena Hennessy. The course was called Painting as Alchemy and was a loose, open framework for exploration. An attempt to approach painting differently than I have in the past, to be open to new possibilities...

I discovered painting on birch panels is pretty cool, I love colored India inks used in a spontaneous fashion and collage... Well, I'm becoming more and more open to it...

This is the piece I finished on the first day of class (it was two separate 3 hour sessions). I'm pretty sure it's not finished but want to live with it as is for a while.

I'll post again some weekend if I ever make changes...
